Source Ranch Day Trips

Centrally located in Southwestern Montana, Source Ranch is the perfect home base for those wanting to take in the local attractions. Locally guests can enjoy the Patagonia outlet for their outdoor gear needs or take in Lewis & Clark historical landmarks. Day trips from the ranch can include visits to Virginia City to pan for gold, Bannack State Park to see what the first territorial capital of Montana looked like, dig for crystals in Crystal Park, or soak in local natural hot springs. Virginia City:

Enjoy shopping or night entertainment at the Brewery Follies, Virginia City Players, Bale of Hay Saloon, and Banditos. Also while in that neck of the woods you can visit Nevada City or eat at places such as the Old Hotel or the Alder Steak House to name a few.

Big Hole Valley:

The Big Hole Valley is incredibly beautiful any time of year. While traveling through you can enjoy a soak in Jackson Hot Springs and explore Big Hole Battlefield. Wisdom, Montana, has several eateries and shops that add to the adventure

Grasshopper Valley:

Only 30 minutes from Source Ranch, the Grasshopper Valley has intimate views of the Pioneer Mountains. Nestled in this little mountain valley is Maverick Ski Mountain, the Grasshopper Inn, Elkhorn Hot Springs, Crystal Park, Coolidge Ghost Town, and on your trip to the Valley you can also stop off at Bannack State Park. Bannack was Montana’s first territorial capital and has other colorful history that still speaks from the buildings left standing.

Guests can also take quick drives to see countless Lewis & Clark Trail historical landmarks such as Camp Fortunate, Lemhi Pass, Clark’s Lookout, Rattlesnake Cliffs, and the Beaverhead Rock. Red Rock Wildlife Refugee is a must see while stopping by the world renowned School House Café in Dell, Montana. Ennis and Lewis & Clark Caverns are also within an hour drive as well as historical Butte, Montana.
